Pool Description

At school we got a swimming pool that is going to stay for the term. We took lessons and we sometimes have free time. The pool is huge and white and inside the pool is water.

The pool is very long and looks like a rectangle. Inside the pool there is water and it smells like chlorine. The water is blue and the pool is kind of deep and see through.

The pool has a gate and it has stairs to enter the pool. The pool is sometimes cold and warm. It sounds like the rough sea that sways from one side to the other hitting banks on the shore. Outside the pool there is a marquee which is a shelter.

The pool feels wet and sometimes the water can make your eyes red when you open them in the water. The pool is 15  meters long and 1 meter deep.

Sometimes the pool can be as deep as a pond. The pool is sometimes as  warm as a spa. The marque is as white as the snow top hills in the South Pole. The water is flat like a mirror.

The thing that I love about the pool is that we get to do anything in the water and we get to have free time and do lessons. Also in the pool our voices echo when we speak.

Swimming Recount

Two weeks ago we had a swimming pool arrive at our school. We had two instructors, one was a girl and the other one was a boy, their names were Jillian and Kevin. They were teaching all the students in our school how to swim. Our class did all sorts of things in the water, like gliding and floating and arm circles.

We went everyday mostly after morning tea. When it was our turn to go we would get changed into our togs and get our towel and run to the pool. We put our bags into the girls tent and hung our towel on the fence. Jillian opened the gate, we lined up near the fence. One by One we went into the pool and we had to go to the two corners. We would end up like a group. After we got a board each and had to swim to the other side, it was quite hard for me to swim because when I got into the pool it was quite deep.

Today when we went swimming, me and Victoria and Alecia all got changed at the same time and we went together to the pool. Later on when we were in the pool Jillian told us to go to the corners, we did a warm up, which we had to swim to the other side of the pool. After that we practised gliding and did some arm circles and floating. We had a breathing contest and races. We had to get into groups of three so me, Alecia and Victoria all got into a group. When it was our turn we had to race and we didn’t know who won but I think Alecia won the race.   After that we practised gliding without taking a breath. If we listened to Jillian and did the things she said we would get free time. When it was time to get out we would give Jillian a high five and get out.

The thing I loved about swimming is getting to know how to survive in the water.

Catholics Schools Day

On Catholic School’s Day we invited St Joseph School from Orakei to celebrate. with us. After morning tea we had a mass then we had lunch and was followed by a concert in the hall where we all had to share our items.

Room Seven went first and they sang a song called “Let it go”. After it was finished St Joseph’s sang a song called “Count On me” by Bruno Mars. Later on after St Joseph item Room Seven sang a song. It carried on with St Joseph and Room Seven doing items, Finally it was time for our item and we did the cup song, but instead of singing the main words we rewrote the words and sang it the way we wrote it. After that it was the last item my Room Seven and they sang a song.

Later On after the concert St Joseph had to go back to their own school and it was quite sad for me because I was going to miss my new friend Zahara and my cousin Eva - Rose. We went back to class and we got to have golden time and that meant we got to do anything we wanted on our netbook, but it had to be on the class site, so I went on to typing test and I got fourty five words in one minute.

The thing that I loved about Catholic School’s Day was getting to make new friends and thought it was really fun playing games with the boys and girls from St Joseph’s Catholic School.
